Reality-TV star Maria Ruge is murdered during a party on the island of Brønnøya off Oslo, and ophthalmologist and billionaire’s heir Jon Holm Matsen apparently becomes an accidental witness to the killing. Matsen immediately suspects that the motive for the murder lies in his own past and in the secrets he has kept hidden from family and friends for 19 years. Thus begins a daring investigation of his own memory, upbringing, college years and identity in search of how Jon Holm Matsen could have ended up next to Maria Ruge's dead body.
Brønnøya is a book about guilt, conscience, inheritance and money laundering, and about trying to hide your own motives from yourself and from others. Brønnøya is the first book in a series.
