
Ane Hem (b. 1979) trained as an illustrator in Barcelona and studied literature at the University of Oslo. She has worked in several newsrooms as a journalist, visual storyteller and courtroom sketch artist. She received her first assignment as a courtroom sketch artist while working in the newsroom of Aftenposten in 2014, and has since regularly covered trials in this role. She is currently a journalist at TV 2.
She previously published the non-fiction book A Question of Guilt – A Courtroom Sketch Artist’s Story (Aschehoug, 2020), described in one of several enthusiastic reviews as “a journey of discovery through the justice system”. Her debut novel, Never Ashes, Always Fire, will be published by Gyldendal in 2026.
